SME Safety nominated Official Partner of the EU-OSHA Healthy Workplaces Campaign 2018/2019 on Dangerous Substances

The European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA) is running a new campaign, “Healthy Workplaces Manage Dangerous Substances”, to promote the prevention of risks related to dangerous substances in workplaces. Indeed, despite the EU comprehensive legislation on the issue, occupational exposure to dangerous substances continues to be a major concern.

In this context, SME Safety has been officially nominated EU-OSHA Healthy Workplace campaign partner. Exposure to dangerous substances is a serious concern to which PPE manufacturers can pose remedy reducing for example the exposition of workers to fumes or dust. The objective of SME Safety is to increase the health and safety culture in workplaces and raise awareness about health and safety measures in confined spaces, where dangerous substances can have a great likelihood of causing fatalities, severe injuries and illness.

Alberto Spasciani, SME Safety President, commented this result: “As SMEs manufacturing personal protective equipment, we do believe that a prevention culture is the key to achieve healthier workplaces all over Europe. Our companies can play a key role to share the knowledge that is needed to successfully adopt safety measures and face different types of risks. That's why we welcome this initiative and are willing to contribute to its success.”

SME Safety will be strongly involved in the dissemination of high-quality information about the importance of a healthy and safety environment will support the prevention of risks related to dangerous substances and exposure to carcinogens at work. The joint efforts and actions of SME Safety and other campaign partners will further strengthen the risk prevention culture with aim of protecting workers, visitors, staff and everyone else who may be exposed to dangerous substances at work.
